PRE-TREATMENT SYSTEM
Pre-Treatment System
Pre-treatment for water involves several processes used to remove unwanted substances and prepare water for further treatment or use. Here are some common pre-treatment methods:
• Screening: Removes large debris like leaves, sticks, and trash from water sources.
• Sedimentation: Allows particles to settle at the bottom of a tank, separating them from water.
• Coagulation and Flocculation: Chemicals (coagulants) are added to bind small particles together into larger clumps (flocs), which can be removed more easily.
• Filtration: Water passes through filters (sand, gravel, filter media, bag filter or membranes) to remove smaller particles and impurities.
• Disinfection: Adding disinfectants (like chlorine or UV light) to kill harmful microorganisms.
• pH Adjustment: Balancing the pH level to optimal conditions for further treatment processes.
• Activated Carbon Treatment: Using activated carbon to remove organic compounds, chlorine, and unpleasant odors.
